Eight classrooms of children are in portables at Frank Wagner Elementary creating more exterior hallways to restrooms and recess. In addition, children must travel in our Northwest weather across the playfield to visit the school Library, computer lab and other classes in the Wagner Center. This project would expand space for more students in the growing downtown area. This proposed project will:

  • Improve safety and security; and
  • Replace portables with permanent classrooms; and
  • Consolidate instruction by bringing the library and other classes back to the main campus; and
  • Add classrooms for future growth.

Estimated cost is $14.9 million. If approved, construction would begin in 2017 after a design process involving students, families, staff and the community.
